First FEI Young Rider Qualifier Completed!

Qualifying  has finally started for Allie and Madoc Gareth. We are very excited to state that their first official Young Rider outing was worth the wait. The Emerald Classic was held March 4-5 in Katy, TX at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center.The weather was perfect. Allie and Gary were the first ride of the show at 8AM, the first of the young riders to go. They had a fluid and technically accurate clean ride for a 70.263%. This score also gave them the win. Day 2 they rode at 7AM in the fog! It was another clean ride with a bit more expression in the trot work, a well earned 71.382%, and another victory. This duo will be competing at the HDS CDI*** at the end of April and 2 additional qualifiers in hopes of riding on the Region 9 NAJYRC team. The North American Championships will be held at the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, CO at the end of July. Region 9 has many junior and young riders vying for spots on the teams. Our new coordinator, Kathy Jones, has fundraising well underway. The kids raised over $1000 this weekend with a Cupcake War!! I also understand that we  have several generous sponsors lined up to help us get there!
